RECLAIMING OUR RELATIONSHIP

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our Reclaiming Our Relationship class is made for patients and their partners who are facing the cancer & illness battle together and struggling to stay on track. Reclaiming Our Relationship focuses on reconnecting with your partner in new ways before, during, and after their treatment has ended.

Intimacy is a proven link and factor in a patient’s whole-body healing, and when relationships lack intimacy and connectiveness, the patient will face prolonged struggle with a longer recovery and healing time physically, emotionally and mentally. Rebuilding intimacy in any relationship takes time, effort and motivation, along with the proper support team. We give the tools and skills necessary to keep your bond strong.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

Our Reclaiming Intimacy Through H.O.P.E.’s Reclaiming our Relationship course focuses on the fundamentals of the human relationship and the wants, needs, desires and feelings of the couple. Objectives of focus include:

  • The differences between communicating and communication
  • The benefits and healing properties of intimacy
  • The roles of romance, seduction and sensuality within the relationship: with and without sex and intimacy
  • Re-connection and finding common ground
  • The importance of safe sex and foreplay
  • Relearning about yourselves and your likes & dislikes, along with relearning about your partner, and coming together in the middle
  • Reconnecting together with therapeutic aids designed to ease the side effects and issues that cancer treatment brings
  • Answers to any questions you have

RECLAIMING INTIMACY’S RESOURCE LIBRARY

In addition to course materials, students have access to Reclaiming Intimacy’s Resource Library. This is a free resource designed help you find answers to your questions while providing tools to help better understand a cancer diagnosis.  Our goal is to help anyone touched by cancer with find critical information, become well-informed, and instill a sense of comfort & control through every phase of treatment. Cancer and illness can be overwhelming so removing the “unknown” is important to mentally preparing for treatment.

By addressing cancer’s effect on the sexual self, we reframe the conversation to focus forward rather than comparing the past. By removing change as a negative, we remove the feelings of shame, isolation, and silent suffering. Reclaiming Intimacy Through Hope Resource Library is a place to learn, grow, gain empowerment by getting the facts. Know what to expect from your cancer & treatment plan so you can develop effective strategies with those accompanying you on the cancer journey.

THE CANCER CRUSADER NEWSLETTER

At the time of course enrollment, students will be automatically signed up to receive the Cancer Crusader Newsletter. Our newsletter provides the most current and relevant information to those within the cancer community. This is a valuable source of information and provides great tips to open communication. COURSE REVIEW & FEEDBACK

At the conclusion of the course, there will be a short evaluation to gain input from every student. This feedback is essential for improving courses, teaching methods, and delivery of class materials.

TUITION AND FEES REFUND POLICY

Students are required to pay 100% of required fee at the time of enrollment. If a student cancels prior to the start of classes, 100% of tuition and fees will be refunded. Reclaiming Intimacy does not pro-rate fees or offer refunds for students withdrawing after the start of their classes. Payment plans or scholarships may be available to you. Reach out to our staff for more details.

After enrollment and payment is made, the course packet will be sent via USPS or be prepared and ready for pick-up at our offices, located at 6347 Constitution Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Please make sure you correctly selected the class learning method that best fits your learning style. And, finally, after enrollment, you will receive a call from your course instructor to discuss your individual learning objectives.
